Ileana Anton’s connection to Jersey City runs deep, as this vibrant city has always

been her home and her calling. Raised in Jersey City, Ileana felt a strong desire to give back to her community from an early age.

 

Her volunteer work is a testament to this commitment, as she generously dedicated her time to various local events and organizations. She has volunteered her time to Saint Anne’s School festival, Saint Nicholas Bazaar, the Mount Carmel feast and contributed to the Jersey City Puerto Rican Parade and Festival. This sense of duty was a core value instilled in her by her parents and grandparents.  From a young age, Ileana Anton knew that a typical 9 to 5 desk job was not in the cards for her. Her boundless energy and inability to stay still were clear indicators that her career path had to be something different. Anyone who knows her understands this innate drive to be active and engaged.  What truly fueled Ileana’s aspirations were the values instilled in her by her family. Their strong sense of duty, community, and service inspired her to seek a career that aligned with these principles. This determination led her to take the civil service test, a pivotal step towards realizing her vision.

 

On January 2, 2019, Ileana’s journey took a significant turn when she was hired by the Jersey City Police Department. Following her graduation from the Stamler Police

Academy, she began her tenure as a police officer, patrolling the West District during evening shifts.  But Ileana’s ambition didn't stop at patrolling the streets. In February 2023, she embraced a new opportunity to become a Community Relations Officer for her district. In this role, she has been instrumental in fostering stronger ties between the public and the police force. Her dedication shines through as she actively engages with community members and takes the lead in organizing numerous events.

 

Above all, Ileana’s passion lies in inspiring and supporting the young residents of Jersey City to pursue their dreams and be passionate about their life paths. Her career is a testament to her commitment to these values, as she continues to make a positive impact on her community.

 

Beyond her commitment to her community, Ileana has a few other passions. She’s an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Mets, showcasing her love for sports. Family holds a special place in her heart, and she cherishes her close-knit bonds. Music is another significant part of her life, as she enjoys DJing and the power of music to connect people.

 

Ileana’s love for her roots extends beyond Jersey City, as she finds joy in visiting her

family in Puerto Rico and Mexico. Her life is a vibrant tapestry woven with a deep

commitment to community, a love for sports, a passion for music, and the warmth of family connections.
